I am Active duty soldier currently stationed in Hawaii, and my SO is a reserve soldier embedded with a unit in Louisiana. If anywhere else a unit transfer would've been easy, but we're told that there are no vacancies for her MOS(88h) on the islands, Does this mean she will not be able to join me here? or if she does she will be flying back and forth every month for drills?

Generally, your spouse will be able to transfer with you and will be forced into a unit even if overstrength due to geographical separation from her previous unit.
She would be wise to acquire additional MOSs in order to have assignment options and ensure she will be able to continue to be promoted in a timely manner.

Have there been a consideration of a reclass to something that the Hawaiian Reserves could use? That would be the best way to get your SO over to the island chain.

We thought about it sir, but being MAVNI soldiers we both did not get the opportunity to choose our MOS. I've only been on the island for a few months and she's graduating AIT next week. So, the only way to get her here is for her to go to through another AIT?

Have her speak with a retention specialist ASAP. There's always a way to make it work although it may not involve her working in her MOS.
