If 1SG Edler is still there then there is solid bedrock SNCO. It is a large independent company with a shit ton of commo to support the UAS mission without the rest of the BN or a task force.
I liked it your mileage may vary.

SFC (Join to see) - Its just being an SME for the Division I personally can say that lower TI (FM, JCR, TACSAT, HF) are not a priority in ANY aviation within Cav. It is stigmata that will not get fixed. Only time it is a priority when they are at RUBA trying to implement systems they don't understand how to use. I have tried to stress RTO University, but preference falls on frivolous details such as cutting grass or pulling gate guard. And now being the CG Commo guy its still a fight that can't be won. III CORPS has all these taskings and no matter what they take priority over training.

SFC (Join to see) - trust me I came to Ft Hood with Ranger School in September and LSR slot as a PSG. They don't say that this is the place where careers die. I have seen plenty of E7s who are great senior NCO get out cause of this place. when I got here i had LOA from the LSR unit but 1st Cavalry would not let me go. I am not complaining things happen for a reason cause LSR unit is going away and I am fortunate to have worked along side some great Warrant Officers and now waiting for September board to hopefully get selected for 255A WO. But it is the great place

Unit is a lot better now! I was in the unit from 2011 to 2014 (1st Air Cavalry Brigade -1ACB). The Air Cav BDE had many depressed Soldiers who were suicidal during that time period due to the toxic leadership from the brigade command team.

We had just returned back to Fort Hood (June 2012) and finished a year long deployment from Afghanistan and the BDE command team led by COL John Novalis changed over. COL Cory Mindenhall and CSM Chris Amagliani took over and morale in the BDE plummeted! Mindenhall and Amagliani were directed by FORSCOM to get rid of Soldiers for minor offenses such as missing a medical appointment. The Army was downsizing and commanders and CSM's were told to chapter people out for the smallest of reasons. The BDE command team gave no leniency: You missed several formations - gone! You failed one PT test - Gone! Several speeding tickets on post - Gone! An Officer misses two meetings - Letter of reprimand (career killer) - Gone!

Our BDE Chaplain, MAJ Shabazz, had MANY late nights with depressed Soldiers, NCO's, and Officers due to the horrible command team influence of COL Mindenhall and CSM Amagliani.

Welcome SGT Burke. I will be your Commo Chief when you arrive. The slot I am currently in is a SSG slot and I will most likely be transferred to another BN shortly after. The BDE is short on 25U NCOs and is looking for SGT(p) to fill my slot and the 2 other open E7 slots. I have 2 seasoned and promotable SPCs which should be promoted soon. This may influence your assignment. If you are squared away and up for the challenge you may be moved to a SSG position.

Look me up on global if you want discuss this further.
