I've seen ARC rails on an ACH, but comms are still with the neckband. Im wondering if it only works on high cut helmets.

I used one for a short time in AFG but for a ballistic mask while I was an open turret gunner(rear security). Didn't work with our comms easily but I had to use the headband to have it fit right. (Standard ACH)

We've tried it before and it didn't work too great. When forced to stick with ACH/MICH I just roll with the headband and take out some of the padding in the helmet. The benefit is still having noise cancelling/ear pro when you don't need the helmet, but still want the hearing protection.

No problem. IMHO if you are doing strictly dismounted operations, my go to is the Sylinx system. I prefer in ear monitoring over muffs just because of the heat. All the same features of a Sordin or Peltor set, just in ear, plus a few more nice options, like dual radio monitoring utilizing one PTT.

If your unit doesn't have them and they are deployed or getting ready to; a REF request can make them happen...

How well does the Sylix work with high noise? I.e. Shooting, vehicles, etc

Nick-

Better than a set of Sordins/PELTORs just by nature of being in-ear. So not only do you have active noise cancelling like with the Sordin, but you are wearing a set of basically ear plugs at all times.

You can turn off active monitoring and make everything silent, or you can amplify your hearing level to much higher than the average person can hear (great for SKT, LP/OP, etc)

Even with the hearing element "on" if the system detects a noise (explosion, gunshot, etc) above acceptable levels it'll automatically go silent to protect your hearing.

It is by far the best monitoring solution I've used for dismounted operations.

I would just email the manufacturer and ask them. I'm sure they can help you out and maybe give some tips.
