Does anyone know if there is a specific VA Guidance on this? I've seen documentation on the VA site that says 4-6 days and I've seen a FAQ in San Diego VA's website that offers up to 2 weeks. But Houston's DeBakey Travel Department has stated as much as 2 months, which seems extreme and excessive for something that is supposed to defray costs for veterans who don't make a lot of money.

Given that my claim is supposed to be decided by November(yes, I know that's just an estimate of best case), that means I could well be receiving my travel pay AFTER my decision?!?!?! Since when does that seem appropriate? Sorry for venting here on RP, but it's really getting my goat.
