I ask you to not worry about the leave (you will typically have at least 90 days stabilization post deployment for reintegration before any schooling/PCS'ing)...but focus and chose wisely on your next career move - if you are married, please include your spouse in the decision so they understands the expectations involved in the change of career paths...some MOS's are limited on where you can be assigned....make sure your GT score is at 115 or higher so you can have options available for MOS and unit assignments.

If your career counselor doesn't have time for you, I'd encourage you to speak with the leadership - and if that doesn't work, let me know, I have the RUNNER UP 2014 Department of the Army Career Counselor of the Year in my BN....he enjoys helping Soldiers!

CSM, that's not entirely true. @ of my buddies that were deployed with me got sent home early due to schools, and they got sent home 1 month before they're school dates. One was ALC and the other reenlisted to Airborne School and got sent home 1 month prior to his school date.

SPC (Join to see) all depends on your location. If there's an Educational Center where you are, go and ask if they offer preparation for the ASVAB most of them do. If is positive talk to your supervisor about it and join the class. Otherwise, start studying and practicing to get ready and take the test as soon as you get back to the States.

If reclass involves a school the class convening date would be an issue other than I'm not sure........
