Since leaving the military, I wanted to work toward a career path that aligned with my passion - helping others, being creative, and thinking outside the box. I found that when I discovered the benefits of using open source solutions.
I've done a lot of research and training (computer-based, on my own, and in the college classroom), surrounding systems administration
I've switched my primary computer to Linux to better understand the system, networked and reached out to Linux and other IT professionals to gain a better insight on what I should learn regarding the field.
I am confident that whatever Linux-based task(s) I come across, if I don't know the answer, I have sufficient resources to know where to find it.

How did I do ?

Not bad........a recommendation to strengthen it first you want to focus on the the employer/interviewer although you r are focusing on you for example.

S-situation
I have research the company and the values #1, #2, #3 are in align with my values

Task or Action of the company
I have been following the company the last 6 months and see that you were recently acquired by XX company and with the 2 companies that are coming together your span is not just going to be in the United states but in 3 other major markets. I am impressed with the CEO speech about XYZ and his vision for the company for the next 10 years.

Based on my background and experience in the military Integrity, collaboration and safety are what excites me in like I said in alignment with your values. Here are some additional things that I will add value:

I love helping others, being creative, and motivating them to think outside the box
I am a strong researcher and will fit in nicely with IT department and help it to grow and be more efficient

Result-

Which will result in increased revenue, reduction of redundant processes>

That is a brief example of using the STAR method.....learn to tell a story and make it about the employer although its about you....What do think? Did my response help?

CW3 Dylan E. Raymond, PHR - Yes. I'd have given info about a company within it had I thought to "imagine" one. I looked it up before I responded - missed the ratio of me:company. Thanks.
