Should the Army go back to have two dress uniforms?

Now that we are all wearing ASUs should we go back to wearing greens and blues or greens and ASUs? The whole reason that I was told that we went to ASUs and got rid of the greens was to save the Soldiers money. Yet they were proposing to have three combat uniforms (garrison, desert, and forest). Obviously someone somewhere is giving off mixed signals. Also, with only one uniform you have little to no variation of formality. For males you switch the tie you wear and females and switch from pants to dress. With the greens and blues we had "suit" and "tux" type differences.
Will we go back in the future? Should we?

I was never comfortable with the Blues as an everyday dress uniform. Traditional? Yup. Sharp? You bet. But a bit too fancy for a service uniform. And the B's make us look like mall cops.
If I had my druthers, the ASU would revert back to a dress uniform for formal ceremonies and evening wear, and we would re-adopt the khaki "Pink and greens" (or variants thereof) from WW2 as our service uniform.

I am 100% percent with that idea.
We shoud return to the World War 2 era class A uniform.Is elegant, can be use for many dress uniform ocassions,and above all,with an outstanding tradition from those years.

When I was in we had summer and winter uniforms. Then we had had 1 dress uniform blues were your choice to buy. When I was getting out of the Army they were going to the digital uniform which i am not a big fan of but I don't have to deal with it due to being out of the service. Also I liked to press and starch my uniform and shine my boots all of that is also out of the window. Personally that self pride and unit pride which seems to have left the service in all Braches which soldiers cant control sucks.

I agree with you it has now gotten to where soliders can just say forget it and just wake up and throw the uniform on. I enjoyed pressing my uniform and shining my boots same as you.I am also out of the service .

My ex and I joined the Army in 1970's. He was a retired Army Reservist. He went through all the uniform changes. 1st he wore the olive drab fatigues. He took them to the laundry and the came back stiff as a board. He had 2 of tan uniforms, one regular and the other polyester. He had summer and winter greens. Then came the camouflage, I hated ironing them especially rolling up the sleeves. If they wanted sleeves rolled up, why didn't they have short sleeves. He came home from Saudi Arabia he had Chocolate Chips and tan boots. He never wore them after he got back. When were were in Germany he bought a pair of jump boots. He had the top of the shoe shining like it was patent leather. I actually had a friend who had Patent leather jump boots. We had all this taking up space. People complain about civilians wearing old uniforms. They were Halloween costumes, for my kids and their friends.

Someone is making a ton of money off of these uniform decisions. Hmmm. Keep it as is. Need to stop switching around since it is costing Soldiers more and more money to maintain different uniforms.

No. Summer whites (class A in white) were discontinued when ASU came on line. White Mess is still authorized for wear during summer months, but rarely seen unless you are in places like Korea where you can get them made cheap.....
