I just received orders to Turkey. What can I expect?

Sorry if this isn't the place to ask this question. I don't have Facebook so this was the only other site I figured I'd get awnsers.
I was dead set on getting out of the AF (stationed at Minot for 5 years) but today I got orders for incerlick (sp?) I was wondering about the mission the living arraignments and just off base life, anything helps. I'm still on the fence but I've always wanted to go over seas! Also I'm security forces idk if that makes a a difference.

I was stationed at the Lik about a year and a half ago. It's already changed since then due to security concerns (now unaccompanied, and down to 12 month tours). Currently, you won't get to experience all the freedoms we used to have like exploring the local area and walking the Alley. With that said, it was an amazing experience I would recommend to try. Since it is such a small base, it is a very tight knit group and leadership is always setting up events to keep you entertained. There are tons of rotators out to Europe as well, so you can take leave in Germany or wherever you choose to experience the travel bug. The weather is great, the people are nice and Turkish food is awesome. If you joined the Air Force because you wanted to travel, I wouldn't turn down this opportunity.

I was there in the late 90's, great experience, lots of history, and I was an SP, the job was the same anywhere I went, just a little more serious at Incirlik, even back then.

It has been awhile, but as I recall the quickest way for a GI to get into serious trouble in Turkey was to flirt with a Turkish woman. Other than that, if you love history and want something to share with your kids and grandkids someday, I'd say go for it.
