So I learned some amazing news this pass week and it was straight from the horses mouth (VA website). Originally of you signed up for the Student Loan Repayment Plan than you waived your right to have to the Post 9/11 GI Bill. This is not the case any more as soon as you complete to.time allotted on the SLRP than you start earning the Post 9/11. Which is awesome for me since I am about to start working on my Masters. This is a great retention tool that the Army is able to use now, because why signing up for my first time I had no clue about the GI Bills great benefits I do now.

I wonder if it works the other way around. I originally signed up for the post 9-11 GI bill because it was worth more and I was going to use it on my Master's. However, I would lvd to have some student loans paid off from my bachelor's.

I don't think it does but may change since they recently changed the rules about the post 9-11. The main reason I went the other way around is because Texas has the Hazelwood Exemption Act which pays the class and tuition for up to a 150 college credit hours. God Bless Texas. Trying to get the SLRP later on though would be a hard to sell but since you are getting a language you can use that bonus money plus FLPP and put in for a 4187 for jump to get more pay.
