If you could vote for anyone to win the 2016 presidential election, who would it be and why? Who would you like to see make a run if they are not doing so already?
Would it be Allan West? Mike Huckabee? Jen Bush? Gary Johnson, or dare I say Hillary Clinton.
It disclaimer is that I want this to be a mature and legitimate conversation. I enjoy hearing other people's views and experiences. Like mama used to say "if you don't have anything nice to say about someone, don't say anything"
What have you RP? Sound off!

My 2016 Dream Team? Allen West (P) with Ted Cruz (VP).
Both are men of vision and understanding. Why not the other way around? I think the next Prez is going to have to be more military commander at home and abroad, but both of them also have enough understanding and appreciation for the Constitution that they would honor their committment to preserve and protect it.
Why not...
Jeb - big government, common core, amnesty
Graham - big government, spineless, amnesty
Carly - I like her, but not enough experience
Walker - Good guy, but I think he's second tier, good VP material
Ben Carson- Great guy, still second tier, not enough experience
Huckabee - big government
Rubio - amnesty. He says he's changed his mind about it, but I'm not convinced
Santorum - meh...very uninpisring
Rick Perry - His glasses make him look smart. Good VP material
Rand Paul - great VP material. Interchangeable with Cruz on the dream team.
Christie, Trump - psht! They can't even be serious. Trump talks but never acts, and Christie is a self-absorbed blowhard.
Hillary - Yikes! BHO in a polyester pantsuit! The only (I do mean only) positive thing I can say about her is that she may not be muslim.
Sanders - he's a self-proclaimed Socialist. Need I say more?
O'Malley - Good Irish name, bad socialist politics.
*edited for spelling - sorry if I missed any

Thanks. In spite of the Donald announcing his candidacy yesterday I'll say he's still in the role of spoiler. Hopefully he'll work on Jeb Bush and the other establishment republicans and get them out of the race first.

my pick would be Scott Walker for pres with Mr Cruz as his running mate. I know this may seem like a far right choice but I honestly think America needs to be taken back from the progressive agenda and the disastrous path we have been on since Bush 1 thru Obama.

Ted Cruz. He and his father understand the importance of this great nation and will make our military a strong force in the world again

About Mike Huckabee though . . . he is as far right as President Obama is left . . . we don't need another extremist in the office and we surely don't need our country to be run by an ordained minister. You can kiss the separation of church and state goodbye.

That is just about the most misguided statement I've seen. Saying goodbye to the separation of Church and state? Come on, there is about as much chance of establishing a state religion in this country as there is of a Christian church being built in Saudi Arabia (hint - zero chance). Don't get me wrong - I'm not a huckabee fan for several reasons, but to fear that Southern Baptist would become the official religion of the USA is kinda far-fetched and silly.

Misguided? Really? What about all the ruckus people (and it is a lot of people) raise about the ten commandments being in government buildings? Prayers and invocations at government functions? Point to a single POTUS that didn't at least profess to be Christian? Just. One. PVT (Join to see) SepCAS has ALSWAYS been a farce if I'm being completely honest.

SGT (Join to see) Establishing a state religion and having references to religion in/on public grounds is not the same thing. Not even close. Besides establishing a state religion implies that one particular denomination would become the official religion of the country in the way that the Church of England was the official religion of Great Britain during colonial times. Claiming to be a Christian, praying, and so forth does not "violate" an un-official policy like separation of church and state.
You might also be interested to know that once upon a time, regular church services were held in the actual Capitol Building in Wash DC, and none of the government officials of the day considered it violating the 1st Amendment. You might also be interested to know that there are statues of Mohammad, Moses, and Abraham in the Supreme Court building. The Father of three religions (Abraham) and the presenters of law for Christianity and Islam.

Dr. Ben Carson. He's very intelligent and loves America and the Constitution. He wants America returned to the position it held when it was looked up to by the world. He sees the need for a strong military and is concerned by the loss of so many high ranking officers. If he makes the cut the blacks will vote for him and he has a large and growing following of white voters already. I'd like to see Cruz as his VP.

I think Carson and Cruz would be in my top choices, as well. They also have the potential of pulling more minority votes.

Rand Paul, I think its time to have a constitutionalist/libertarian in office.

I like Rand Paul... I think the Republican class in 2016 is deep and full of potential leaders!

Dr. Ben Carson if he makes the final cut. However, I'm not opposed to seeing Jeb get the job.

Currently, Jeb Bush is the front runner for the GOP, even though he hasn't thrown his hat in the ring. I live in Florida and I thought Jeb did a decent job. I'd vote for him versus Rubio.
