Does anyone know of any options to get scholarships, outside of pell grants and tuition assistance from the military?

The simple answer is go to a Barnes and Noble or look up college prep information. Back when I was in school there were whole books dedicated to compiling potential scholarships that students could apply for.

The transition between high school and college is a tough one. It takes much more motivation and determination to not only become admitted into a school but also to pay for it. Having a handy scholarship guide is useful for students who need the extra boost. Fortunately, many books about scholarships and guides about how to receive them are readily available.

Congratulations on your decision to further your education.
I share with you how I managed not pay for graduate school. Some military courses are awarded civilian credits. Depending on the school you want to go to you can get a nice chunk of your courses transferred. Also, allocating tax free money from a deployment to go towards education.
In my case, because I had used TA from a previous graduate degree, the degree was all on my dime. CMU transferred 15 credits from ILE. The rest I payed from the tax free money I received during that tour. There is also tax benefit when you file at the end of the year.
This may not be the scholarship magic pill you had hoped for. Hopefully it helps you reach the end result of paying less (or none at all) for education and avoiding student loans.
The better schools for transfer of military credits that I know are AMU, CMU, and UMUC.

MAJ thanks for the advice! I'll be able to maximize my efforts in paying for college. Right now TA is paying most of my costs outside of books along with the pell grant. I'm sitting ok but would like my dollar to be stretched a little more.
