This is the motor on the boom for elevation I have found the nsn which is 9150-01-400-2897. My question has anyone else had the issue of ordering the gear oil and how long it could take, or would I be better off finding it off base at a auto store and buying it out of pocket if it's taking to long or having ordering issues. Any maintenance people or supply who know any tricks or info would be great.

From the Winsmith web site referencing proper lube specs.
The Winsmith S-ELIMINATOR is filled with Mobil synthetic oil, SHC 629
See page B2
http://winsmith.com/wp-content/uploads/Motion_Control_Catalog-2.pdf

Typical Properties
Mobil SHC
629
ISO Viscosity
Grade 150
Viscosity,
cSt @ 40ºC 150
cSt @ 100ºC 21.1
Viscosity
Index, ASTM 166

Check with the S/G 4, but if it is not readily available from the system, a local purchase using the company supply Impact CC may be an option.. But let them guide you and your supply guy on that option.

SGM Erik Marquez I also looked and we found a unit willing to give us some for the terminal. I'm going to bring up the issue to supply Monday because from what I've seen no terminal in the motorpool has ever had it checked unforunatly

My advice is NOT to solve this type of problem if you aren't in a battle zone. If it's needed bad enough, the Command can put a priority on it. If you get something and it frags the part, you own it along with the grief that comes with it. Also, every penny that gets in your pocket has a better use than trying to overcome ineptitude at work.

Unfortunately, the data online does list the actual weight of the oil. Maybe if there is a TM you can look in there. Only 3 approved brands for this NSN. I would not buy oil out of my own pocket. Semper Fi.

MGySgt James Forward I am looking for it in the tm it doesn't say a weight said 6 29 and the motorpool said they don't have it and pll is saying they have to order it. But they are saying they can't even though I showed them the nsn. The motor tm even says only put that oil in it
