I'm currently undergoing an MEB for a BH condition and receiving treatment for said condition. I am on a permanent profile for it, as well. Part of my profile states "Ensure the opportunity for eight consecutive hours of sleep every 24 hour period for the duration of the profile..." does this exclude me from doing 24 hour CQ/Staff Duty?

Thats a conversation for your commander and your units senior medical provider to have. The profile might be valid AND needed, or it might not be.... but it IS..so the unit leadership should seek clarification from their assigned care management senior person, be that BN, Bde PA (or Doc) or Div surgeon

That said above..
If I felt you were using your profile as a way to get out of duty and my senior medical person concluded that duty as a runner overnight was not detrimental to your health issues.... Id likely put you on duty.. Have another SM cover the day portion say 0800-1700 and have you report for duty at 1700 to cover then till 0800 next morning. That gives you 9 hours off to sleep, eat, shower, or play X box...what you choose to do with your 9 hours would be your call. But the other 15 hours would be mine,

I actually saw something similar to this happen with a Soldier when I was on Fort Bragg. The Commander decided to have another Soldier cover the portion from 0900 until I think it was 1800 or 1900, and then the one with a profile covered the rest.
My advice to you though, is don't try to be excluded from duties such as CQ or Staff Duty, since everyone else already has to pick up the slack whenever someone is injured, on Profile, etc, and taking on duties when you can will help the unit overall. I'm not telling you to violate your Profile in any way, but it will go a long way in your favor to maintain professionalism and help out where you can.

You are required to have 8hrs of sleep. Doesn't say anywhere that it has to be at night.
