PVT Clayton Whatley You will need to ask an Army Recruiter to see if your RE-3 Code and Separation Code can warrant a waiver. There are some separation codes that cannot be waived IAW Army Regulations. Keep in mind even a suitability review might be required through the Battalion and approved by a BN CDR or higher. If you pass those two, you still have to re-qualify morally and physically and go through the MEPS processing once again. We have several waiver requests denied in my office because HQDA is not accepting them at this time.

I would start by raising the question as to why they didn't think they needed to get you a waiver to enlist in the first place. JFW = Erroneous Enlistment (medical condition for which no waiver was issued).
I have been fighting to get back in w/ a JFL code. It has been constant fighting w/ CMOs at MEPs. Find a damn good recruiter. I think I finally found one, myself. Make sure they communicate with you during the process, not just at the beginning & when they tell you "no dice."

So I have a RE-Code 3 but with a Discharge code JFW. Right now I have a 6 month wait. Is there anything I can do in this time to find out eligiblity or what not?

Troy Vincent - Have you been in contact w/ a recruiter? That is going to be your best option. They're going to have the most accurate info for you. In the meantime, gather EVERY PIECE of documentation you have regarding the medical condition and if it still exists. That'll be your first step towards getting a waiver approved to even go to MEPS to see if they'll clear you. Then you'll need to get a waiver from the Surgeon General to enlist. That's where I'm currently waiting - the SG's signature.
