Is it permissible to wear the dress uniform if it's still set up to my previous rank?

Is it permissible to wear the dress uniform if it's still set up to my previous rank? Normally, I would answer my own question with a resounding "no". However, I have an unexpected funeral to attend, and I feel wearing the dress uniform, even with the previous rank, would be more appropriate than wearing acu's.

Are you on active duty? Then spend the coin and get it fixed, and after the funeral is over, beat your face for being lazy.
Are you in the Reserves/Guard? If so, are you an officer or NCO/enlisted?
If officer, then spend the coin and get it fixed, and after the funeral is over, beat your face for being lazy.
If enlisted, if you're an NCO, beat your face for being too lazy to push the paperwork through for getting the alterations made. If enlisted, your NCO needs to beat their face for being too lazy to supervise you.

No, wear it with your proper rank, or wear a nice suit. If you wear the wrong rank you have given yourself a demotion. Don't misrepresent yourself like that. If you have the time and resources, get it fixed, if not, wear the appropriate civilian attire.

I ended up just wearing a regular suit and correcting my dress uniform later. Thank you all for your responses.

Absolutely not..... You are an NCO and you should always set the standard..... If you do wrong, then you make it ok for your lower enlisted to do wrong as well.
