I was wondering if there is a certain packing list I need to go by before I head to school at Ft Gordon. I have looked on the Gordon new arrival website but couldn't find a packing list any info would be greatly appreciated.

447th was de-activated in June. The Companies of 447 moved to 551st Sig Bn. The 25B MOS-T's will be split between D551 and E551. I'm not sure the entire packing list but make sure you bring your ASU's. Battalion Staff Duty # [login to see] .

I just went through early of 2013. Like these other guys said, you will be assigned to 447th SIG BN, A co. That is the company that accounts for the re-class Soldiers. As for that packing list, I simply packed my uniforms and civilian clothes. They issued our TA-50 for the little 3 day field exercise, if they still do that. Good luck!

You should be studying the 401. The 401 test is already ready available. Studying for the 401 will not hurt you for the 301. There are not too many changes that should affect you. 301 expires i think at the end of this year (your cert would not expire, but just helps to study ahead).

Last I checked its 447th Signal battalion. All the prior service (MOS-T's) are in HQ/A Company....http://www.gordon.army.mil

This may not be the same at all for you. When I came during BOLC, CIF issued additional equipment. The question you have to find out is if your going to the field and etc? That can really alter what you have to bring. What may help is to call the school house direct. Your RFO / orders / or the school site should have a number. I would ask if you are going to the field and etc, if they have a required list, and are you going to CIF for anything in addition. For SCCC, we PCS with our stuff here and there was no going to CIF for additional stuff.

I went through in 2012-2013 and they still issued you additional gear at CIF. If you bring your own gear thats fine too. I personally took the CIF issue that they offered to reduce all the junk I had to haul back.

Haha now that you mention it, it was extra gear. The stuff was junk. Forgot all about that. Bought my own canteen, theirs were god awful. They rejected the ones they gave me and I told them I never even used them. As a result, I had to clean them to clear.

It is funny how you never used the equipment and they bark and squel that its dirty come turn-in time...lol

Well I'm here in Ft gordon. And I guess things have just changed. I'm in A.co 551 mixed with MOS-I students. So we will see how this goes it could never be good being the lab rats lol.
