It seems like Dept Def Secy Bob Work recently said that the Pentagon is going to continue pressing to reduce pay, pensions, and housing allowances despite Congress telling them to get bent. The Sequester has put the Pentagon bean counters in a very untenable position.

As a percentage of the total DoD budget, personnel costs have remained largely static. They have risen and fallen in proportion with the budget as the services have expanded and contracted. With the possibility of an increasingly unstable security future on the horizon, what are your opinions about these reductions and their timing?

How else will we pay for all of the cool new toys the Pentagon wants to buy?
