(released today via Security) Personally Identifying Information
Over the past few weeks you have seen or heard of threats made by ISIS toward U.S. personnel. Because of these threats, it is wise to review and to remember the type of information that should be place on personal social media sites. Do not make yourself a target for any unsafe action.

Please take time to review the attached Smart Cards and also review your personal social media site(s) to ensure there is no information criminal or terrorist elements could potentially exploit. You are encouraged to share these Smart Cards with family members and friends.

The Army also has developed a social media handbook that can be found at: http://www.slideshare.net/USArmySocialMedia/social-media-handbook-2013. This web site is accessible from commercial ISPs, and is available for everyone to read.

Thank you for your assistance in practicing good OPSEC, both at home and in the workplace.

SGM (Join to see), that' s some good advice and a helpful link. Thanks! There has been quite a bit of discussion - both in the open media and here on RallyPoint (and Facebook, other social media) - about ISIS threats to come after US military personnel and their families.

Here's another article with some tips about posting on social media:
