Is the constitution being upheld when our freedom of speach and religion are being shut down?

I had a hard time attaching the link (from my phone). The story can be found on any news channel.

I would have to say that there likely is a problem with this action by the city of Houston, but it's not a simple story, it's complicated. Here's a link to the story:

Here's an interesting quote from the Washington Post story:

“It’s procedural — it’s common to ask for a wide range of documents — but the mayor is playing real hardball,” said David Skeel, professor of law at the University of Pennsylvania. “The fact that she’s subpoenaing pastors seems quite unusual in a case that’s mostly about politics, and the fact that she’s going inside the church is even more radical. It would be easy enough to get sermons, of course, but asking for them is clearly meant to send a signal.”

And I submit that the signal is crystal clear.

That little mayor certainly stepped out of her lane. She wants to be lesbian - good for her, who cares. The Bible speaks out against homosexuality...don't like it, change the channel!

But that would be too easy and mature, wouldn't it?

Interesting development in this, while not exactly an unbiased source, it is news, kind of. The back pedaling is funny. While not yet a win, my cynical bet is that the mayor or someone from her office appears in a "we all love each other news segmnent".

Sounds like a lawsuit brewing - that's trampling all over people's rights!

Disagree? Ok - atheists scream about the Ten Commandments being outside courthouses. "Separation of church and state" is the phrase I think. So are we to assume that idea only goes one way? I hope Houston gets their ass handed to them.
