Ok so long story short I've had a permanent profile since '09. I was told by my unit 26July17 (I was on leave until 1Aug) that I have to get reevaluated for my perm profile. Had to get another referral (thanks tricare) to my specialist. Can't get into specialist until 13OCT. I received an LOI that docs must be submitted NLT 1SEP or my PUHLES goes back to 1's. What can I do?

I'm just curious how it works now because of the recent changes and that's why all perm profiles are being reevaluated. I mean there's no heads up or notice. I had a month to redo all this and now I'm out of time and still waiting to get into a specialist. I just don't want to get screwed over by this because my job will be on the line. (I'm on AD orders)

Call your case manager and let them know all the facts if you can send them any documents about your up coming appointment I don't see why they wouldn't give you a grace period. I also just found out all permanent profiles are only one year now

Yeah isn't it nice how they give you a month to get all this together. I just received the LOI in the mail dated for 1 June with the suspense of 1 Sep. too bad I got it on the 2nd.

And before I get ragged on for having a permanent profile, I am not some sh*t bag. My limitations are long distance running and sit-ups. I can still bust my ass without worsening my condition :)

SSG (Join to see) - Don't worry about what others think. Take care of yourself, because those who would rag on you could care less if you got seriously injured, thus shortening your ability to defend freedom over the many years ahead of you.

If a permanent profile is whats needed to keep you willing and able to put it all on the line for Uncle Sam, then that's all the Army can ask for.

Thank you! That is probably the kindest thing I have heard about having a profile.
