About four to six weeks. LOL. It's in the initial review process. God only knows how quick you'll get a response.

Well it has been since April 2017. This is my appeal when I got denied the last 4 times but the letter I sent to the Senator, his office contacted the VA in my region and I got that response. Never had one like that

Congressional inquiries are worthless. They contact the organization and merely regurgitate what they say on the Congressman/woman's letterhead.

1stSgt Mack Housman PFC I.E. Love - I have tried several Congressional inquiries: Rep Hartzler, Sens Blunt & McCaskill. All with the same result, "We tried, but nothing happened." And that is not an exaggeration. If anything, I used more words there than they did in their response to me.
Your best bet is to find a hella kickass recruiter. One that is willing to go to MEPs and hound them. Especially once you gather all docs that could head off any arguments MEPs & the CMO may present. I gathered statements & docs from the chief neurologist and years of doctors notes refuting what was given as the reason for my discharge.

It all depends on what type of Discharge that's on you DD214 says and that could be the reason why it's pending and how long that takes is any ones guess.

The first thing is that you can't necessarily trust the status in eBenefits or vets.gov. Pending review for initial decision means that a decision has been made, but it needs to be reviewed by the VSO (AL, VFW, DAV, State Agency, etc.) you appointed to represent you. If it has been that long, generally the VSO did not agree with something and it went back to a work queue.

I don't even check those websites no more! They are worthless. Well if I keep getting denied, I will keep fighting. It is just a struggle having to go to mental health and they can tell you, yes something is wrong and va won't even listen.
