SGM (Join to see), I submit they are good military officers stuck in a very difficult place. The article points out what many senior military officers have to deal with: the balancing act of leading the military and staying in the good graces of their ultimate boss, the Commander-in-Chief. I assume that is especially difficult to do when the Commander-in-Chief and the senior military leaders don't agree on major policy/strategy issues that involve the military. I do not envy the military leaders one little bit.

CW5 Montgomery--right again...not what you expect when you climb up the ladder, to be a high-viz pawn, but that is part of the job. In my lane, being the "Spokesperson" is also tough as we try to be boundary spanners, telling truth to both sides. Meanwhile we get accused of spinning when getting access to all the facts is difficult (sometimes they don't want us to know).
