Underground Newspapers were published mainly by drafted soldiers serving overseas...they lead to the creation of the Overseas Weekly Newspaper that did much to correct detrimental conditions....

Showing your age here SGM (Join to see) ;)
How many of your peers even know what social media is these days? Let alone use it?
My ex-step-father was Vietnam Era Air Force. Gung ho at the time and thought it was all that until he started to open his eyes and see what was really happening. I guess the military is one of those places that will either solidify or destroy our concepts about ourselves and about the world.

Having experienced both great commands and bad, I can understand why some stay and some run.

CW2 Evans...yes, probably getting older than I look (that is a recent pix and I am 60). Many of my ancient peers like to use the buzz words but don't actually use social media other than perhaps Facebook or LinkedIn and now, RP. Tweets are for twits as far as they are concerned. Blogs are...something you should read once in a while... Unfortunately, I have to have some ability in my present job. But yes, consider what might have happened about Vietnam a lot sooner if such social media were used by all those hippies back then. And hey, I had my apple-seed beads and flowers too and even played in a rock band at the Clubs...our job was to play the top 50 while soldiers got drunk. Great gig for a 17 year old "dependent"....

CW2 Evans...fgood point, not all generations use social media in the same way or with the same frequency. While not a fan of losing myself in social media, such as tweets, I use it and other aspects such as FB and Linked in.
