I recently got out of the Army in July, and am currently attending a bible institute here in Berlin. The school ends in September of 2018 and I am wanting to see what Job opportunities are out there for an American Citizen.

As with all transitioning service members, I went through the T.A.P classes, however the program did not really give many resources on foreign job employment (I.E. PROCESS OF GAINING FOREIGN EMPLOYMENT, OR IN COUNTRY [NON-MILITARY] EMPLOYMENT RESOURCES) for service members staying in country.

Since I was a Military Officer for 9 years, I attempted to see if I could use my experience and degree to cross over into the Polizei (MOS crosswalk), with additional training through a foreign academy. However, since I was a complete foreigner (i.e Not european), this job opportunity was complete out of the question.

CONCERNING ON POST EMPLOYMENT: Before I left the military, I also talked to many civilians that worked on post, and inquired about on post job employment. However, many gave me the same answer: [If one has a German residency (which I have now), then most on post government job positions are not available. and that the lower positions ( PX and other NAF jobs) are usually open to family members of service members]

So if anyone has accomplished this task, I would be grateful for advice and resources to help me.

Hello, have you try the Department of State , FBI or CIA information? They have facilities overseas as well. I am in the same situation as well trying to look for employment in Germany ,but no luck. I am moving their in Feb or March. If you need any help I will be more than happy to do what I can.
