Going through accelerated PA OCS, branching infantry and would like to go active after. How hard would this be to do?

I was in the Guard (Infantry) I earned my reserve commission thru ROTC. It was near impossible for an officer to active. At best, OBV 3, obligated volunteer with a 3 year commitment if you graduated at the very top of your class at IOBC. OCS (state commission) is ranked at the bottom of commissioning sources. Good luck.

The PANG may have a number of years they want to recoup from you before release - they've invested money in you to commission. Every year the Army does a MILPER for a Call to Active Duty (CAD) for career fields they don't have enough folks of each rank for. Usually comes out in the late Spring, I think. Just tell your S-1 to let you know when the CAD memo comes out.

As with all requests, it depends on the needs of the Army. When times are tough and you wouldn't want to go Active Duty, it will be relatively easy.
