Currently processing for AD Army. Recruiter has my date obtained as Feb 23 18. Why have I not been given a
MEPS date 2 months later? How long will it take?

Do you have an approved 368 from the Adjutant General?

I was told by my recruiter that it wouldn't be necessary. I asked him specifically about conditional release from IRR to active.

Is that not accurate?

Oh you’re IRR? That is correct. No reason why you haven’t been able to go to MEPS. how long have you been out?

As!e with USCG, as well...I'm just offering some alternative viewpoints...if your mind is setz and you're already committed, that's different, I'd merely thought to mention other possibilities, that's all, honest...I'd be !most eager to hear more, so far as you'd care to say, OK? Ambitions? Objectives? Senior enlisted? Warrant? Commissioned? Civilian later? I was just wondering, honest....

Thanks for the response sir. Well, I am 34 years old and at this point of my life I plan on making a career out of it. Meaning 20 years or more than retire. I definitely have ambitions to be senior enlisted over time. Due to my age, I don't know if I can still be commissioned. If I can, that's also something I would be really interested in and work towards. I haven't really thought about commission. Maybe some time down the road after mastering a specific MOS.

I'm just curious...I realize you want Army, I get that, I'd just wondered, had you also looked at Navy Seabees or USAF Prime Beef civil engineering? What MOS would you be going for, I saw you'd said carpentry and !as on, would you still want that? Would you want another field? If be curious, elaborate, so far as you'd like, I'd be most eager to hear more, of Army, fi e, Army, I'd just thought to offer you alternatives, that's all, honest, I'd just thought ten potentially relevant, given the MOS your mentioned, that was all, honest, OK?

I have also been to a Navy recruiter. I didn't get a great response from them. Meaning they didn't answer my calls afterwards. And never called me back. I was really interested in the Seabees. I attended my AIT at Naval Construction Battalion Center in Gulfport, Mississippi. They taught me my MOS. My preferred choice of MOS, if given the option, would be to remain in the corps of engineers, but reclass. I would prefer 12B, combat engineer. I am also very interested in 14 series, which is Air Defense Artillery. That way I can open up the possibly to get involved in some space operations of some sort in the future. I am also open to 11 series. All of the above with airborne included, of course.

I follow...purely as a thought, if you trained at that naval unit, if you could, why not call their command !aster chief (CMC), and explain that aspect, to see if they could get you an answer from fredruiting from the side, you know? I only suggest that, since you'd actually been there...the USAF Prime Beef thing, I think, would also be suitable for you, certainly, I'm not sure how USCG does such things, I'd expect they likely have an analogous thing to Seabees in some form or fashion, you know? Now, if you want air def artillery, purely as a suggestion, if you'd want to go interservice, if you want to try it, though I gather you're out now, USAF really seriously wants UAV/drone enlisted pilots, as you've probably read, I've seen you tend to look at the stuff I send in, I'm glad obv it seems to be of interest...would you also want Army WOCS for helicopters for flight? Are you beyond the age? Would you want to try forma waiver for it? Would you want to try for soecialized warrant for construction with Army maybe? Purely another thought of course...elaborate on your hobbies, interests, reading sports, martial arts, associates, bachelors, grad school stuff, incl specific course titles, grades, GPAs, if you think you can, also, look heavily at doing an assoc or Bach in construction technology, if you haven't already, those could be quite good for you, USCG has a direct commission program for engineers, such a program might qualify for that, also for Army specialized warrant. There's also concrete engineering, I tried to interest my stepson in that, he didn't want it...what are tour ultimate objectives? Senior enlisted? Would you want warrant or commissioned? Explain more, I'll send this now, if I see anything good, I'll try to send it. I saw the space part...have you also done any STEM training of any kind, in any field at all?

SPC Jovani Daviu I am thinking the reason you might not have gotten a response back yet, could be that they’ve met their quarterly quota already and are waiting for the next quarter to start so it will count for that quarter. That was what had happened to me when I first signed up. I had wanted the AF then but would have to have waited another 6 weeks for the new quarter to start so I joined the Army instead.
