I'm going to fort Campbell soon for my first duty station. My question is simple should I live on or off post? What are the benefits to each option?

well as an PVT i see you having to live on post in the Barracks. Unless you are married then i would suggest you live in base housing since your pay is really low the benifits of living out in town are non extistant. Do a budget don't be stupid and throw your money away on stupid things.

Each has its pros and cons, Living on post means all your bills and housing are taken care off besides cable and Internet, you are close to work and the PX and Comm, on the other hand, you have to deal with all the drama that comes with living on post.

Yes, I said it, you get the majority of the "Dependas" that think they know it all and deserve the rank of their SM. The nice thing about living off post is you can get away from the Army life for a bit.

If you are a specialist or below live on post so you don't get taken advantage of by people who know how much bah you make and you aren't late to formation or have to pay utilities.

Good point. I didn't think I'd make enough to afford it anyway.
