I was wondering if a DEC statement is possible to put in for with my current situation.
I was planning on ETSing November of 2019 from my OCONUS post. My previous DEROS of July 2019 has been changed to September 2018 and I now have orders to a CONUS duty station. I’ve been told by my unit’s career counselor that I have no choice but to go because my MOS is overstrengthend at my rank and at my duty station. I have 0 desire to re-enlist and 0 desire to proceed with my orders. What can I do? Thank you.

1st off, I never saw anyone ETS from OCONUS- they normally were handled just like you- DEROS to CONUS with 6+ months left and ETS at the new unit. If that is still the case, then you are stuck. If the unit is over strength, then again, there not much you can do. You might check the retention NCO at Post level, but think you are CONUS bound.

Here in Germany we have personnel ETS here all the time. It’s called a European out.
