'Window-dressing'! Should we do our jobs to impress our leaders or for the love of it?

You must have heard the term 'window-dressing'. What do u think about it when it come to the Army and your Unit?

I did mine for 27 years because I loved it, not to impress anyone, but on that same note you have to ensure that the people that count are seeing you do the job you love and to and above standards to be able to continue in that career for the 27 years that I did.
So in a way you are doing both, no matter what your perspective may or may not be.

That can go hand in hand. A true love for a job can make itself known to the employer, so yes you can have both. I loved weather..
