I am amazed at the abilities of these organizations to raise funds. Here is a recent article that outlines some of the ways that we know they do it. The totals noted for ISIS at the beginning $2 Billion. This is going to be a long fight...

I unintentionally funded terrorism. If you all remember the Ft Dix terror plot, they leader was my pizza guy who I would tip generously....

Very interesting article, COL (Join to see). And the really scary part is that we don't seem to be able to stop the financing. IS will fund partially from oil revenues, and partially from external sources (per the article, but it just makes sense). The more beheadings they carry out, the higher the ransoms they will likely get from those willing and able to pay ... and the funding beat goes on. I agree, sir, it seems like it's going to be a long fight.

They have more money than some countries do. At 2 Billion they rank at approximately 145 on the list of current countries GDP.

We need to hit them at their source. Hostages only bring in so much, we need to take out their oil and any other source of revenue.

This has been going on for a number of years and this only scratches the surface. Lets not forget their techniques for money laundering.

Very true, and their recruiting tactics are not to be overlooked as they are increasing their numbers almost daily.
