I am wondering if I should be concerned about my Colorado registered LLC when we move to Florida. I know several people who have used a NJ based LLC for their own businesses and I know NJ LLCs are accepted pretty much everywhere. How would I go about researching this? Or do I even need to worry about it?

I live in CO, so my advice is contact the Chamber of Commerce and/or DORA to obtain this information. If your LLC is insured you can ask your insurer it you have nation wide coverage. Not unlike auto insurance you can drive from state to state with doing business may be a bit different. If you are expanding your business to another state your Colorado LLC should suffice so long as Colorado is your home base of operations. If you are going to start from scratch in another state then I would recommend applying for your LLC and insurance in that state. In business you can never have too many protection plans implemented.

SSgt (Join to see) – What's up, Keith. Looks like PO3 Christian Tomasitis got answered your question already. May I also suggest the SBA or appointment with a local JAG office.
