I applied for a job in USA job that listed those who can apply as Disabled Veterans so I applied. So I have been wondering now as I read through the posting what is a TPU position. I looked it up and it isn't very clear but it seems as though it is some sort of enlistment? My question is, can a 100% rated veteran who currently is a civilian federal employee, take a TPU position in the Army?

The posting should say that "military service is required" or something like that. If it does not say that it is an enlisted or officer position then it is probably a contractor and you are good to go at 100% as long as you aren't unemployable and the disability won't interfere with your duties of the job.

Like I said, I'm not an expert. I may be wrong. I wish you luck.

It might be that this is a MILTECH position. M-F you're a civilian, but on battle assembly weekends you put on the uniform and drill with the unit.

CW3 (Join to see) - Yes, the last civilian techs went away late last century. After the war a lot of civilian techs were hired, but they soon lost favor and dual status techs came in vogue. The civilian ones often hung around until retirement and were replaced by dual status techs.

The job posting requires you to also be in the reserves. You can be in the Reserves with 100% VA disability as long as your conditions do not prevent you from service. There is no relationship between VA disability and Fitness for duty.

Im 60% disabled and currently mobilized.

VA is VA. The services require you to meet medical readiness standards. They are not the same
