I'm in the USAR in an MP BN and willing to transfer City, County, State from my current FL to wherever. I'll even pay out of pocket for my own lodging and food, I just would like to be offered the opportunity to get into these schools. I want to eventually become an Instructor and provide my experience and knowledge from this. Any help?

There are Civil Affairs and Psychological Operations units in the USAR that are on jump status.

Sir,
Thank you for this insight, I'll reach out to my Retention NCO and see if he can pull up any CA/Psy Ops Units near me, since I'm already working on my 6yr Reenlistment next month.

SGT (Join to see) - 478th Civil Affairs Battalion - Airborne is in Perrine FL, the 350th Civil Affairs Command is located in Pensacola both have airborne positions. If you are really motivated to attend those tactical level stuff I'd look into the 478th first as on a CA team you would be able to hang around at the tactical level basically until you hit MSG, (Team SGT positions in CA are E7's). I have been directly in either of those units but I served in a downtrace of the 350th (413th CA BN out of Lubbock TX) and really liked it. I hear good things about the 478th too. If you had any CA specific questions PM me and I'd be glad to talk with you, I've been in CA since 2005, and have been an AGR training NCO since 2011.

MSG (Join to see) I've heard great things about CA and that's definitely the route I'll be taking. I'm currently deployed in GTMO, so I have to be patient and wait until I get back.

First, consider switching to the Guard which has these critical skills jobs and MOSs and Combat Arms units.
Heck FL ARNG has an SF Group too.
If you want Combat Arms types of hooah schools you need units that have school seats afforded and offered due to necessity.
Otherwise you’ll probably never get those type schools.
Needs of service, not servicemembers desires.

I’m afraid those days of self desired development are long gone, like since the 80’s maybe early 90’s.

Your wants and the Army’s needs are two separate issues.

I applaud you for wanting more.
Research your local/state choices of units.
The more hooah a unit, the more hooah schools afforded to its troops.

BN I’d assume would carry a 42A in the S-1

The 20th SFG(A) has units in FL, AL and MS. The 360th CA is in Columbia, SC and HHC USACAPOC is at Ft. Bragg, NC. All these units are on jump status. There is an Air Assault CA unit In Knoxville, TN. Good luck getting Pathfinder school. My question to you is are you interested in getting the training to improve yourself or are you badge hunting?

Improve Tactically so I can eventually become an Instructor for such school houses.I don't want to be those leaders who talk a lot but never actually been through it themselves.

Well, good for you. There is nothing wrong with wanting to improve one’s self and those are laudable goals.

I do not believe that you need all of those schools in order to instruct at a school. I was an Air Assault Instructor. I only had Air Assault and instructor related courses. Through Instructing I got an opportunity to go through Rappel Master, Fries and Spies, and Pathfinder. It definitely helps to have a unit that has school related requirements to fill. I was at Campbell. I am currently looking at an Airborne school in the near future.
