Great discussion topic 1SG DeyShuan Shepherd. Your ability to prepare after notification does not give you much time. It is best to prepare very early in our careers, not wait until there's a QMP notification.
While everyone has a different situation (and a different reason for serving our country), it is a personal decision based on their specific situation. If there was a clear case of a mistake, they should send matters in defense; it there are no reasons to appeal and the individual wishes to retire, they have that option; they can choose to not appeal and have the board review their case and make a decision from the board.
The QMP notice will let you know what is in your records that created the reason for the QMP notice. Just because one of your Soldiers receives a QMP notice, it does not necessarily mean they will be required to leave the service.

Awesome response CSM Uhlig. There are so many people running scared right now. It seems like a mad house. We need to calm the fears of Soldiers and explain that preparation with documentation is key to survival.

CSM Michael J. Uhlig, this sounds a lot like the QFRB the AF went through this last year. Even with the huge cut Big Blue had to make, they still kept 25% of those flagged to meet the board.
