What suggestions or advice do you have to help an AGR 92Y trying to get promoted?

I’m sure there are others in my boat. As a E6 AGR 92Y a couple of selection boards have convene but I wasn’t picked up. I feel like I’m stuck at this rank at the moment and need advice and suggestions. I have considered Recruiter, Drill Sergeant, Instructor, and Reclassing. Any suggestions and advice would help, thanks!

Have you read the bored after action review? Right there it will tell you what made a service member competitive for the board that year. Why bother asking people for their speculation, when you can go straight to the source?

If you are excelling at your job, APFT, gaining some college credit and your NCOERs reflect then you should take in a specialty assignment. Thank you for your service.

Do you have civilian education under your belt? I'm almost certain my BA with honors helped me get selected this year.

I did all my upper division through Arizona State University in one of their online programs. I think an online school could help put you over the top in terms of getting that 'select' next to your name, in addition to some of the other items mentioned here like broadening assignments, better NCOERs, etc.
