hi. I'm just private and I'm active reserve. I wanna know how to get BAH, but I couldn't. They were all about explanations about BAH, not how to get or steps to get BAH. So if does anyone knows the steps to get BAH, can you please tell me?

Since you're AGR and the rules are different than AD, go talk to your first line supervisor. They should have talked to you about this when you in-processed your unit.

yes sergeant but they told to go ask veterans center, but they don't even know sergeant.

Simple enough, do you have any depends? If the answer is no, then you are not authorized to receive BAH.

SFC Marc W. - This is a little old, but the soldier said Active Reserve and not AGR. It's rare that a private would be AGR, but it that were the case, then he would be entitled to BAH. If the is just a drilling Reservist, no BAH unless you are on active duty orders for more than 30 days.

CPT Lawrence Cable I just made the connection. Never heard of reservists being referred to as "active" reserve, which is why I went to the AGR thought process. In which case, you're correct on the BAH entitlement.

SFC Marc W. You would hear it more on the Guard and Reserve side of things. It just means you are a drilling member instead of being IRR or ING.
