My husband is active duty E-4 and since we are married (I'm a civilian, and we don't have children) is receiving BAH with dependents. I've been thinking of enlisting as a reservist.

If I enlist, will he lose his BAH while I'm in boot camp and A-school? Will we both get BAH? And when I finish A-school and am doing one weekend a month and two weeks a year, how will his BAH be affected?

They would still received same amount of Bah it won’t make a difference. I’m Reserves and my wife is active duty . When you are in the reserves the army technically looks at you as a civilian .

One thing though.. While your are on BCT and AIT you are considered on Active Duty so they might give you the w/o Dep rate if you are lower in rank from your husband unless they've changed policy. It doesn't matter that you are in the Barracks at this time because BAH (if they give you) is not just for you but for the family. Don't expect it but just in case they give it to you then you'll know why..

Yeah, since your IADT will provide lodging in the form of Barracks, you will not receive BAH. Only potential issue is if and when you mobilize and are entitled to BAH, but you are required to provide a mortgage or rental agreement.
