I am trying to highlight some of the benefits a prior-service vet has in the archaeological world. Here is what I have come up with so far:

Expertise in :

—geography and geographical tools (GPS, compass, etc.)
—health and safety (heat awareness, first response, etc.)
—discipline (excavations are like very short tours...before too long everyone wants to kill everyone else)
—hard work (actual digging, picking, etc. is not unusual for us)
—leadership (leading a team/square or a field/squad)

I know not everyone knows what goes on during an archaeological excavation, but what am I missing? See the link below for my full blog article on the benefits.

I have a feeling I might need to keep your name handy for these programs, you are posting exactly what I wish to do and almost where to find it and actually do it!
