So. I just need no bullshit advice. On what I should do. Im a spc who got put on the abcp program. I contribute my weight gain due to the fact i screwed up my back down range. Sliped a disk and am suffering from what feels like severe siatica. My command knowing full well that the provider I was currently seeing didnt do any thing for me and only recommended Physical therapy. So I get flagged and so does some one else in my company. A couple months go by. And theres a guy who takes a pt test and fails tape. But his numbers get forged and pow hes now able to go to the board. From my understanding every one else knew that as well but here we are. And now theres a couple of people who have failed 2 pt tests in a row. I know theres a reg stating after 2 pt failures the command must initiate separation. But doesn't mean it will be completed. So my feeling is that they wont be flagged and we will go business as usual. What ticks me off is why are they treating others diffrently. Those who do not has any thing from restricting them from maintaining standard gets a free ride. Why a select few of us get the shaft. Any insite on what i should do next is appriciated?

"I contribute my weight gain due to the fact i screwed up my back down range. Sliped a disk and am suffering from what feels like severe siatica."
-- Are you a trained medical professional? How do you know what severe sciatica feels like or that you slipped a disk?
"My command knowing full well that the provider I was currently seeing didnt do any thing for me and only recommended Physical therapy. So I get flagged and so does some one else in my company."
--- Is anyone in your command trained medical professionals? If all your provider felt you needed was physical therapy and could not determine your weight gain was medical, then your command had no other choice but to flag you for being overweight and keep you on ABCP.
" couple months go by. And theres a guy who takes a pt test and fails tape. But his numbers get forged and pow hes now able to go to the board. From my understanding every one else knew that as well but here we are."
-- How do you know he failed tape? How do you know anything got forged on any of his records? Did you just hear this from the rumor mill? Or did you see it?
"And now theres a couple of people who have failed 2 pt tests in a row. I know theres a reg stating after 2 pt failures the command must initiate separation. But doesn't mean it will be completed.'
-- If you fail two consecutive record APFTs, then yes separation should occur. This means someone fails a record (key word record) APFT and has 90 days to retest. If they fail that second one 90 days later, they should be separated.
"So my feeling is that they wont be flagged and we will go business as usual. What ticks me off is why are they treating others diffrently. Those who do not has any thing from restricting them from maintaining standard gets a free ride. Why a select few of us get the shaft. Any insite on what i should do next is appriciated?"
-- How do you know others are being treated differently or getting passes or having records forged? What proof do you have other than "my understanding?"
Technically you have nothing that restricts you - not diagnosed. How are we to know your weight gain wasn't from simply being lazy? We don't know because we aren't your medical provider or your chain. If you think your provider isn't doing his or her job, talk to patient advocacy. Ask for a referral. But you have posted nothing to indicate you have gotten "the shaft" or anyone has been getting free rides.

Even if you went to WTU because of your injury, you are still required to meet the Army HT/WT requirements.

If you feel that you are being treated unfairly, you could always file an IG complaint. I'm not in your unit, so I don't fully get what's going on. From what you have said so far, it seems like you are angry for being flagged and that you are lashing out. What happens with other Soldiers shouldn't distract you from what you need to accomplish; weight loss and injury recovery. If your PCM feels like there is nothing wrong with you and you disagree, you could always ask for a referral to see a specialist.

You need to figure out what medical problems are going on and train the best you can within your physical limits. I would recommend swimming if your back can handle it. You might not be getting a fair deal, but don't let that distract you from the fact that you are not currently meeting Army standards. You can go the IG route, but you will still need to lose weight and either pass the APFT or get a permanent profile. Good luck on your endeavors and try to block out the distractions and focus on what YOU need to accomplish so that YOU can be successful.
