How does grade determination work for a prior service going from NG to AD?

E5 with 8 years in the NG. Etsd in March. Currently in the reenlistment process. Passed medical, just submitted a grade determination today. I'm curious about any info about retaining rank. 3 years as an e5 BUT could never get my unit to send me to wlc. (I was a mechanic and they were more worried about slot for the line platoons).
What are the chances I'll keep rank and be sent immediately to wlc vs a demotion
Also for anyone who as gone AD from the guard recently what's the transition like? Any pointers?

You're coming to AD as an E4 most likely. The same thing happened to me. NG to AD with 11months complete separation. No wlc which is blc now, I've been AD for a year and a half now and still cant get sent to BLC. Hopefully once I get back to the states I'll get BLC but dont expect it if your first AD assignment is OCONUS.
