I saw this story on CNN, sir. They said that hackers could have set up the back door and the North Koreans could have walked through the door that was put in place. They definitely said that an insider was likely involved because the machine names (IDs) were hard coded into the malicious code, and only someone with inside knowledge of the network could have informed the hackers on that point.
I'll bet the truth is somewhere in between -- hacker involvement AND North Korean involvement.

CW5 (Join to see) I can't imagine the FBI would have thrown out the "North Korean" possibility so early on without having done some good analysis.

I guess now we have to prove the insider was a mole.....so we save face?

If it was a marketing ploy, nicely played. I still don't think they made as much as they would have if they let it open as scheduled.
