I haven't been very lucky finding any answers online or in AR 670-1 about this, but do I have to keep my religious necklace under my tan shirt or can I leave it above it yet still under my top? I've seen many people either lower enlisted, higher enlisted, and officers wearing them not under their shirts. Is it against regulation to do so?

Unless you're an aircrew member conducting aircrew duties, dog tags/necklaces always go inside both. If you are an aircrew member conducting aircrew duties, necklaces are a no go and dog tags go around the outside of the collar on your blouse and get tucked in between the blouse and tan shirt.
