Try Rolling Thunder bringing awarness to POW/MIA's, military active duty and veteran suicide awareness and they are generally more active with local vets than most area Veteran Groups Combined. Also there are alot of women in Rolling Thunder because being a Veteran is not a requirement; neither is owning and riding a motorcycle. Look for local groups that help Veterans like Horse farms that do therapy for Veterans with PTSD-we have New Freedom Farm located out here in Buchanan, Virginia. Look beyond the AMVETS, DAV, VFW AND AMERICAN LEGION if you are looking to do more than drink.

I am in Michigan, Reason I asked is that a few of the Veteran organizations here aren't really female soldier friendly and I feel disenfranchised and ignored.
