Glory Derived Through Suffering

In The Gift of Valor, author Michael M. Phillips describes a component of Marine Corps "theology" where "glory is derived through suffering." Can you think of a better way to put it?

I would modify it to "glory is derived through suffering for Christ" because not all suffering is undeserved or meritorious; but, whenever we as believers suffer for our faith expressed or tacit we offer honor to Christ in this life and will receive glory in eternity.
