How long does efmp in Germany take to approve command sponsorship ?

How long does efmp take to approve command sponsorship for Germany? My husbands orders have already been cut and he is heading there without me. I’m worried I won’t get approved because I’m hard of hearing. However, will it be a hassle to amend his orders if he’s already there? Is there a big chance of me not getting approved? If I go get approved, how long would it take for me to meet him out there?

Mrs. Taylor, the information that’s been provided is spot on. Also have your husband talk to his Platoon Sergeant about these challenges so he/she can assist you all with the process since you two are new to the military....Good Luck to you

Let me address those one at a time.
1. There is no reason to expect your EFMP. to be denied unless you need special treatment.
2. It's unusual that you aren't already on his orders unless you two are recently married. The screening and amendment process is fairly straightforward if completed prior to PCS. It will probably take you longer to get your passport than the amended orders. If it's initiated once he's over there, it's a lot more difficult and slower, there are just more steps and depending on where you are it can be a hassle for you both.
I acquired custody of my kids after arriving OCONUS and it took about 90 days to get them approved, but my case had a lot of hiccups. Once you have the EFMP screening complete and signed by a military doctor in your husband's branch, it should be about 60 days.

He just finished AIT school. He is leaving soon and I’ll probably not have answers before he leaves. What hoops will he have to go through to get me over there and amend his orders? Is there anything I can do to speed the process? I already have a civilian passport, I heard you can get a SOFA stamp and you won’t need the no fee. Is that correct?

Brianna Taylor each country is different as far as passports and Visas. You'll have to ask levy, specifically, or he will need to.
You will need to get the EFMP screening done and send that to an Army doctor to sign off on the screening. If he hasn't left yet, then you can be added to the orders.
If he's already in Germany, he'll have to send that screening the command who writes a memo to the military treatment facility EFMP section. They agree they can accept you. Then he submits a request for command sponsorship. Once that's done it shouldn't take too long.

Brianna Taylor - you have the Army no fee passport with a SOFA stamp already? Your tourist passport will not work, especially if you intend to work overseas. With A tourist passport, the Germans expect you to,leave after 3-4 months. The Army sponsors one with SOFA stamp which allows you to stay for the duration of the assignment and allows you to work in Germany, even if it is on post. The passport thing can take six weeks.....it ain't the Army, the Army is the front counter for this. US State Department has to,process the passport application and issue the passport.
It is not really a lot of hoops. You go to the EFMP office at the servicing Military Treatment Facility (MTF) and you wil filll out a form. Based on that form, the gaining MTF EFMP sums up the condition and treatment required, and then approve or disapprove. Occasionally they will ask some questions. From what you said here, it's pretty cut And dry.
Are you with your spouse at the same duty station right now? You can go to the MTF and work the EFMP issue. Are you enrolled in DEERS and have an ID card?
You'll need the amended orders with your name on them to get travel. He needs to check with the personnel office that issued his levy brief to see if you can get your passport without orders since that can be 6 weeks turn around.
