Hi,
I have recently gained US Citizenship but my record still shows me as citizen of India. I have updated my unit but they said they don't know how to update it in system. Can somebody please tell me whom to contact to update it? Also, I was trying to log in to DTS to get reimbursed for my travel expenses. This is the first time I would be logging in but I am getting error "SSN is not valid for self-registration". I am assuming it is because of my citizenship status but not sure. Can somebody help me with this?
Thank you in advance.
Best Regards,
SPC Gill

Your Certificate of Naturalization needs to be in your iPERMS. You provide that to your unit, or your BN or BDE S1. Your BN or BDE S1 then updates your citizenship status in eMILPO.
If DTS is directing you to self-registration, then you do not have a DTS account or you are locked out of your DTS account.
Or you need to add an "R" after your SSN in the block, if that doesn't work, then if your unit AGR can open your DTS account, then they need to request that the ODTA (at BDE level) to "reset" your account so you can log into it.

Really - they don't know how to update their system? Amazing the lack of competence displayed in your S1 office.
Have you bounced it off the S1 MSG ? I bet he knows the answer and shortly after you talk to him, everyone on the staff will know 'How-To'.

Did You start travel with a DTS authorization? DTS and citizenship have nothing to do with each other.

Sir,
Thank you for your response. My unit is in PA and I live in VA (more than 150 miles from my unit). I was told that I can get reimbursed for my travel for monthly battle assemblies. I got all the information from my unit about how to get reimbursed but I was never able to log in.

SPC (Join to see) - I don't know about the RC, but if you've got a CAC card you should be able to get in to DTS. You have to build the travel itinerary in DTS, the approval routing is associated with your unit/command. It gets approved or disapproved, then you execute travel. After the travel you settle through DTS with your receipts and documents. You do this for each trip.

You need to call the people who handle orders and travel. In an AD unit you'd go to BN S3 for orders and the BDE S8. The BN S4 may have to identify you in DTS as a traveler and activate you in the system.

Have you called the DTS help line? See what they tell you the obstacle is.

Sir,
I called DTS helpline and waited for almost 1.5 hrs but I was not able to get hold of any customer care agent. I had to disconnect because it was taking very long time. The error I get is " Your SSN is not valid for self-registration". I think I should try calling DTS again.
Thank you,
SPC Gill
