I am a Red Cross Service to the Armed Forces volunteer. Another good choice is the USO

It's hard to say. Many national organizations have local chapters/posts that do great work and many that don't. You have to get involved carefully to make sure what you're getting into. I joined both the American Legion and the VFW, and tried two different posts of each. Ended up in one VFW post and quit the American Legion all together. Still, I wouldn't discount the AL, just those two posts that I tried. Long before that, I worked as with youth at risk as a volunteer with the county Probation Department. Some of the most rewarding work I ever did.

CPT Jack Durish I see so many young guys going down the wrong path with my work at the jail, I feel as though I wasn't to do something to make a payoff impact on the youth.

SPC (Join to see) - Every once in a while I meet some young man who I met in juvenile hall and they tell me their success story. Only occasionally and yet it more than pays for all the hours spent with them
