91M AIT student wondering what privileges I can expect to have while going through AIT on Ft Benning. I understand it’s gonna be an open bay so I’m expecting zero privileges like BCT, there’s not a lot of info or discussion about this topic online

PVT Titor,

LTC Tongret is correct, I feel, as well as many others within this conversation, regarding expected privileges. I have nothing to add to that, however, I feel I should very much channel a wise-man from my times in an Infantry line unit: don't have expectations.

Expectations are always a recipe for disaster. You're expecting something, when conditions on the ground likely have changed. Being adaptable to the situation, and pushing through the challenges you face (whatever those may be) prepare you mentally for any sort of situation that could arise. I would highly recommend walking in being ready for the minimum, most spartan of privileges, and being pleasantly surprised if you get more than that.

I completely appreciate that you are asking what may be available, and that your position is likely not one of having an expectation of privileges, but I felt the need to express this in the event I am wrong (my momma taught me about assuming) about your outlook.

Best.

That will depend on how well you perform and the leaders over you.

The best privilege you have is the fact that you have made it to AIT. That might sound cliché but think of the ones that didn't get through BCT. The ones who want to enlist but weren't eligible. You have already done more than so many people have. Don't lose sight of the reasons you enlisted in the first place. It is an honor and a privilege to be a member of the greatest military in the world. Learn all you can and pay attention to everything. Good luck
