Getting to Airborne is almost exclusively reliant on you filling a Paid Parachute Position PPP on an Airbonre Unit's MTOE.

Don’t do it, recruiting, whether it is as an active duty or as an AGR is the worst job in the army.

With respect MSG, I must disagree. The last 10 years of my 22 years of military service was as an AGR recruiter. You have to believe in what you are doing and despite the immense pressures put upon you to make your monthly mission, you must perform your duties with complete integrity.
Without the recruiting process we are left with providing our country's military strength by tapping into the 18-25 male registrants in the selective service system, certainly "not" the best alternative.
If I had to weigh my time as an AGR recruiter, all and all, the scales most certainly tip to the positive, then again, that is just one recruiter's perspective.

With all due respect, you have obviously drunk heavily from the Kool Aid. Whether you worked for USAREC, or in a state entity as a title 32 AGR, I say you’ve been hoodwinked, bamboozled, led astray. Speaking from having been a recruiter myself, you were nothing more than a low level pimp and a professional liar, competing with other street level pimps to add another ‘ho to the stable. The supervisors were jokes and leadership was absent at all levels. My conjecture is if you would great as a televangelist or used car salesman, then military recruiting staff s the job for you. Persue it with every fiber of your being. On the other hand, if one is comfortable managing a brothel or running a carnival freak show, then get on the track to manage and supervise recruiters. Just my dos centavos.

My credentials and achievements speak for themselves and my "Integrity" is still intact.
Some one who achieved the rank of MSG should be aware that all assignments are "not" created equal, yet we do them to the best of our abilities despite the perceived or actual shortcoming of those in charge.
As far as leadership... leaders are only effective as the men/women they lead allow them to be.

The day I became a recruiter, my best friend in the whole world, who was also a recruiter, said to me, “Welcome to leg Heaven!” He was spot on. The phrase nest of vipers applies. I found neither honor nor integrity whilst I was a recruiter. Of course that was in the late 1980s. Maybe it changed? I highly doubt it. The recruiters I met and knew would pimp their daughters out and sell their souls to make mission. If you kept your honor and integrity while recruiting good for you, I salute you sir. One question I must ask, do you sir have a right shoulder patch? I had the privilege of being a 1SG twice in combat zones. And the troops I led were comprised of third country nationals and Americans. So from my perspective, your take on leadership is all wet.

As a specialist I don't see how you can be a recruiter. Did something recently change that I have not heard of.

In the guard you can put your AGR packet in as a SPC && get promoted into an E-5 if you’re qualified.

SSG Lyle O'Rorke not anymore. When I went to drill Sgt school I was a cpl (p) picked up Sgt 2 days before promotion. There were two other who didn’t and they could not wear hat and badge after graduation. So they changed it now you have to be an E5 Sgt to even go to school. But she is in the national guard so they might have different rules for recruiters to be Cpls.

SPC (Join to see) so basically an E4 promotable. That’s actually a sweet deal. I think the reserve paperwork for Agr states you must be a Sgt I’ve never seen a specialist Agr.
