If you have not been treated and or diagnosed for an injury, can they start the MEB process?

I have Had surgery before on a different body part and am now limited because of that surgery. Now I am reporting a new injury that has been bothering me for a while now. I was scared to report it because I did not want to meb. The pain has gotten too much to stand now so I had to report it. The first thing my pcm says to me when he walked in was “have you given thought to a meb yet?” I told him I would rather not and he said pretty soon he is going to recommend it. So if I have not been diagnosed or treated for new newly reported injury, can they recommend me for a meb? Or do they have to wait until I am treated?

The MEB is usually warranted when you can't perform your job anymore. But they also take into consideration your opinion of your ability. If you can show that you can recover then you may be able to stay in.

SPC (Join to see) if you went to your medical provider and got a profile to allow yourself to recover, you could have your recovery time. It only screws youeself to forego a profile.
Just because you don't have a profile doesn't mean you have to do something that will injure yourself. If you know it's going to cause injury, politely decline and inform your leadership you will get the thing they want you to do added to your profile.
Don't be a dumbass. Stop trying to hide your injury. Go get the profile and treatment you need in order to heal.

SFC (Join to see) I have tried to get the profile to match what I know I can and cannot do. For that injury I just had another mri and it turned out to be nothing wrong with the actual surgical side. It was a new injury to the same place because it was already weak or compromised. Once my pcm saw that I wasn’t going to need surgery again he stopped helping me out and changed my profile back to a less severe level. So now I am screwed when it comes to my profile. I have told him I need it changed back so I can take it easy and recover. So now I am doing what I know I can and cannot do and my leadership is probably building a malingering case on me. My 1sg has been calling my pcm behind my back to look into my medical which is against hippa. Same day I told him I need to take it easy and he told me I need to get meb actually my pcm let it slip that they have been talking about my medical.

First, it is not against HIPPA to discuss your case with your command team. They have a right to certain information. The PCM is acutely aware of which information because everyone anywhere near a medical clinic is required to take a HIPPA class and recertify every single year.
Your command team has a requirement to be informed about your status and expected length of recovery. MEBs are absolutely discussed with command teams and tracked by them.
Second is your assumption about building a malingering case. You're assuming something that, from your own story, I have no evidence of. Everything you've stated so far sounds like you are making wild assumptions.

SFC (Join to see) maybe I am. I’m just paranoid about the whole thing. I have a mortgage and family to worry about if I get meb. I feel like if I get out everything we worked for to build a good life for our family will come crumbling down due to job limitations from my physical status.

You were injured; you had surgery; you received a profile to permit recovery, and, you have another injury that your PCM believes warrants an MEB.
Stop blaming your COC and lack of recovery time.

I guess I’m just angry about the whole situation. I feel like I have not done anything yet for the army and our country other then be a burden.

I know it's a little late now, but take care of injuries when they occur. If you let them go they have a tendency to become worse. Good luck with this.

Haha I know this. I was just scared because it took a year to get them to do an mri for the first injury. The whole time I was fighting for one because I knew something was more serious then what the pcm thought. I did tell him a few times about this injury during that but never made an actual appointment and he said let’s focus on the original injury first. Thank you I’m going to need some luck.

SPC (Join to see) - It took the Army 13 years to do an MRI on my shoulder. I had gone through physical therapy and had multiple profiles due to flare ups. I finally had surgery on it 28 1/2 years after the initial injury.
